Juanita Schlagal Yocham, 97, homemaker of Big Lake, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Big Lake. She was born to the late, Harry Ernest and Martha Minnie Zeibig Schlagal on Tuesday, November 13, 1917 in Crowell, Texas. Juanita married Russell Ruth Yocham on December 25, 1945 in Yuma, Arizona. She was a member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church and a devoted Christian lady. She was known for her cooking and quilting talents. Juanita was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Her greatest joys always stemmed from her grandchildren. Family and friends will forever remember Juanita any time they are around Bingo, Las Vegas, or horse racing events. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 grandchildren; and siblings, Robert Schlagal, Loise Brown, and Margaret Phillips.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Claude H. Adams & Brenda, Roy Lee Adams & Eudora, Evelyn Smith & James A. "Tony", and Walter "Randy" Yocham & Alpha; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday, July 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Johnson's Funeral Chapel, San Angelo . Interment will follow in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo. The family requests donations are sent to the West Texas Rehabilitation at www.westtxrehab.org or the West Texas Boys' Ranch at www.wtbr.org . Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.
