Charles Ray Walcott, 80, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at the Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, TX.
Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, with Rev. Steven Hicks, officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
He was born on May 7, 1935 to Raymond and Helen I. (Grindle) Walcott in San Angelo, TX. Charles worked as a photographer for the last 25 years of his life and prior to that was self employed.
Charles served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp, duty stations included Camp Pendleton, Paris and Rome U.S. Embassy duty and final duty station was Camp Lejeune, NC.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Hollway, Milton Pierce, Jerry Curry, Joe Font, Don Stringer, James Timm, and honorary pallbearer, Pete Chappa.
He was preceded in death by father, Raymond G. Walcott, mother, Helen I. Walcott, sister, Molly S. Walcott and a son Joseph Walcott.
Survivors include his daughter, Ramona (Ron) Dalton of Dallas, daughter, Daphne (Vinod) Sherring of New Bern, NC, son, Charles Walcott of Crozet, VA, son, Justin R. Walcott of San Angelo, daughter, Renee' H (David) Leporowski of Bay St. Louis, MS, brother, Ronnie (Phyllis) Walcott of San Angelo, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart at 19 South Oakes St.
