Presley "Dutch" Weishuhn, 89, of Eola, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born Friday, July 10, 1925 to Jesse and Katherine "Katy" Braden Weishuhn in Mince, Texas. In the early 1940's, the family moved to the Wall area from Frelsburg, Texas. He married the love of his life, Ethel Marie Droll on January 6, 1948 in Rowena, Texas. Presley was a lifetime farmer; farming cotton and milo as well as raising livestock in Tom Green, Concho and Schleicher counties, until his retirement in his mid 80's. He loved to farm and ranch, but especially working with his livestock. Hunting was a favorite pastime. He spent countless hours with his hunting friends and both morning and afternoon coffee with his buddies at the Mereta Coop Gin, enjoying fellowship with each of them. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Wall Council of the Knights of Columbus. Presley was preceded by his parents; son, Michael Dennis Weishuhn; grandson, Todd Weishuhn; sister, Dewees Poulson; and brothers, James and Olen Weishuhn.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Lange serving as celebrant. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Wall with his nephew, Msgr. Larry Droll serving as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery of Wall.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ethel Marie Weishuhn; children, Linda Urbanek and husband, David of Lowake, Allen Weishuhn and wife, Jo Ann of Vancourt, David Weishuhn and wife, Belinda of St. Lawrence, and Donald Weishuhn and wife, Theresa of Eola; grandchildren, Tanya Wilson and husband, Obie, Joe Urbanek and wife, Lindsey, John Urbanek and wife, Jennifer, Brady Weishuhn and wife, Stephanie, Laurie Teplicek and husband, Grant, Amy Schwartz and husband, Justin, Carrie Batla and husband, Max, Cody Weishuhn, and Cassie Weishuhn; great grandchildren, Madison Hans and Augustus Wilson, Corbin, Slayte, and Rylee Urbanek, Gage and Renly Weishuhn, Hunter, Hutson, and Holt Teplicek, Amber and Brenly Schwartz, Keegan, Cohen and Brylee Batla; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his special care ladies (Mary, Elisa, Mariza, Dena, and Angie), Angelo Home Health, Baptist Hospice, and Dr. Chris Barnett for all the care that was given to Presley and the family; Father Joe at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
