Chad Bryan Glidewell, 41, of San Angelo, was called to his eternal home in Heaven by his Lord and Savior in Dallas on Monday, June 22, 2015. He was born to Troy Glidewell, Jr. and Cathryn Pierce Glidewell on April 27, 1974 in Abilene, Texas at Dyess AFB. Chad worked as a painter, construction worker, and cook. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Chad was a 1992 graduate of Central High School, San Angelo where he played bass in the orchestra. He later attended Angelo State University. Chad was a free spirited man who touched many lives through his big heart and giving nature. Chad's love for his family was boundless. His ability to keep smiling and moving forward, no matter the obstacle will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Chad was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Louis "Louie" Ornelas; grandfather, Troy Glidewell, Sr.; and grandmother, Jean Olsen Stiles.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2015 in the Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Valley View Cemetery in Robert Lee, Texas with Rev. Tommy Richardson officiating. Mario Troncoso, Jr., Alexander Angle, Bernie Garza, Oscar Ornelas, Robert Louis Ornelas, II., and Will "Bevo" Chittendon will serve as pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to the "Somebody's Rusty" Outreach Ministry c/o First United Methodist Church, 37 E. Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
Survivors include his mother, Cathryn Ornelas; father and step-mother, Troy Glidewell, Jr. and Christine; siblings, Rheana Flores and Mario Troncoso, Daniel Flores and La'Sarah Fishlyn, Robert Louis Ornelas, II., Stephen Ornelas and wife, Jennifer, Oscar Ornelas and fiancé, Tiphany Orticke, and Dakota Glidewell; niece, Ella Troncoso; nephew, Aden Ornelas; grandparents, Patricia Glidewell, Milton and Sharalee Pierce, Alice Martinez, and Dan Flores; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends, including step-father, Danny Flores
