W. W. Bill Caldwell, 93, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday June 18, 2015 at a local care center.
Visitation will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Allan C. Eckert, and Rev. Randall Wehmeyer, officiating. Burial will take place at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
He was born on May 14, 1922 in Ballinger, TX. Bill proudly served his country in the 814th Air Engineering Squadron. While in the service he married Joan Marling in Norwich England on June 13, 1944 and they shared 70 wonderful years together until she passed on December 27, 2014. He owned and operated Caldwell Electric Inc. until he retired and sold the business. Bill and Joan lived in San Angelo, Texas.
Bill served for many years on the school board of Lake View ISD, member of the East Angelo and Southwest Lions Clubs and enjoyed the time spent traveling with Joan while she was the District Governor of the Lions Club, a longtime member and served on various boards at Trinity Lutheran Church, member of the LaPaloma and Western Dance Club. Bill enjoyed bowling, golfing and being with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Frona Blake, wife, Joan Mary Caldwell, step sister, Ida Foster.
Bill is survived by three daughters; Frona (Tom) McGuire of San Antonio, daughter, Mary Grim of Robert Lee, daughter, Sue (Andy) Daniel of San Angelo, son, Johnny (Jerry Julian) Caldwell of Little Elm, TX, son, Joe David Caldwell of Dallas, brother in law, David (Geraldine) Marling of England, grandchildren, Sheri (Eddie) Hood of Henrietta, TX, Mark (Shanna) Daniel of San Angelo, Johanna (Brian) Davenport of San Antonio, Steve (Kellie) Ebenstein of Midland, Kim (Tracy) Kelly of San Angelo, Tommie (Ricardo) Amell of Carrollton, Kristi Kerby of San Angelo, twenty-two great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
