Allan Henry Rowoldt, 85 years of age, passed away on Monday, April 6. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family and friends helped to carry him thru his illness the past 6 weeks.
Allan was born March 15, 1930 in Victoria, Texas to Reverend Emanuel and Mechthilde Rowoldt. He was baptized April 20, 1930 in Schroeder, Texas and Confirmed September 3, 1944 in Miles, Texas by his Father.
After graduation from Miles High School in 1949, he proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He then met the love of his life, Marie Bentley, and they were married June 25, 1955 in Kenedy, Texas.
Allan and Marie were married 59 years and 10 months; they were looking forward to celebrating 60 years together. They were blessed with five children, Vickie, Bill, Kay, Tim and Susan. Although Allan worked several jobs to support his family he never missed an opportunity to support his kids at whatever school or sports activity they were involved in. He was their #1 fan!
During his time in the hospital he told a nurse that "he had the greatest family and that if everyone had a family like his the world would be a better place!" His family meant the world to him and he meant the world to them!
Allan worked for Union Texas Petroleum for many years and retired from Mitchell Energy. After "retirement" he enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his sons and golf buddies until the age of 82, playing dominos, hosting parties for friends and families and squirrel hunting. He never really "retired" as he was always helping someone out. He not only set the standard on work ethics but with helping others, finding joy in everything, living life to the fullest and most importantly honoring God. He had a servant's heart and personified what was right in this world. He loved God, his family and his country!
