Robert “Bob” E. Melton, 74, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at a local care center.
Per Bob’s requested, his body was donated to science and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Bob was born February 13, 1941 to Curtis and Pauline Melton in Brownwood, Texas. He joined the Navy where he was a journalist and soon after he married Marion in Honolulu, Hawaii. He retired after 20 years of service in the Navy. He worked at Albertson’s and retired. He loved to read, write, and publish books. He was a great friend to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Marion Melton of Nashville, Tenn.; sons, James and Carl Melton of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Samuel Melton and his wife Ruth of Brownwood, Tx; brother, William “Billy” Melton and wife Bonita of Waco, Tx; sister, Jeanette Nulf of Albany, Or; grandchildren, Chancery Melton and Newland Melton both of Brownwood, Tx; cousins, Voncile Spurlock Guthrie of Brownwood, Tx; Adele Vivian Valle’ of Colton, CA; Edwin “Eddie” Valle’ of Chula Vista, CA; Terry Smith and husband Chuck of Zepher, Tx. And significant and longtime life partner of 32 years, Steve Perez.
