Harold Dan Dunn, of Bronte was born January 22, 1940 in San Angelo, TX and joined his Heavenly Father at midnight the morning of March 14, 2015, passing peacefully into the arms of the angels who carried him home.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Shaffer Funeral Home in Bronte. Funeral services will held on Monday, March 16th, beginning at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Bronte, with Pastor Bobby Rogers officiating, assisted by Mike Wright. Graveside services will be held at the Fort Chadbourne Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zachary Walsh, Michael Welsh, Donald Butler, Colin Pope, John Fiveash, and Norman Hurt.
Harold enjoyed spending time with his family cooking in their back yard and playing with the grands and greats, traveling, fishing, hunting, and caring for his many different critters. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bronte, he served twelve years on the Bronte City Council. He was a member of the Bronte Evening Lions Club and Hayrick Masonic Lodge. He worked for ten years for Monarch Tile before the company moved to Marshall, Tx. He then retired after 30 years with Goodyear Proving Grounds in 2001.
Preceding Harold in passing were his parents, Edgar and Frances Dunn of San Angelo, TX and daughter Belinda.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Dunn; brothers George Dunn and wife AnnaBelle, Richard Dunn and wife Patsy, twin sister Carol Schlather, sister Geraldine Hoover and husband James; daughters Marty Vaughn, Frances Dunn and partner Donald Butler, Amanda Welsh and husband Michael; grandchildren Micah Hawkins and husband Clayton, Nikki Indalsingh and husband Timothy, Zachary Walsh and partner Lindsey McIntire, J. D. Walsh, L. J. and Brea Welsh; great-grandchildren Alyssa and Landon Indalsingh, and Linley Hawkins.
