Jacquelyn Anderson, 85 of Grape Creek, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 in San Angelo. Graveside services will be 10 AM Monday, March 16, 2015 at Water Valley Cemetery with Brad Winchester of Grape Creek Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Jacque was born in Abilene to Hershel Brown and Marjorie Howell on August 26, 1929. Most of her youth was spent in Water Valley. She married James L. Anderson on July 15, 1944 in Water Valley. Jacque went to night and summer school after her four children were mostly grown and achieved her dream of graduating from Angelo State University in 1976. She worked 37 years for Grape Creek ISD. She started out as a bus driver and aide, and then worked her way up to become the Financial Administrator for the district when she graduated with her degree. Jacque believed in helping others and was known for her care for her grandmother and mother for many years. She was also active in 4H and school activities with her children. Later in her life, she assisted people with completing their income tax returns and volunteered her time with Sonrisas and Meals for the Elderly.
Jacque is preceded in death by her husband James L. Anderson, and her daughter, Barbara Lee Hendry.
Jacque is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ronny Harrison, sons and daughter-in-laws, James (Rocky) and Marta Anderson and Kye and Charlotta Anderson, and her sister, Betty Rainey. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Amy and Mike Murphy, Charlie and Lucy Jones, Clint and Lindsey Harrison, Jeremy and Amy Harrison, Andy and Ashley Alwine, and Patrick and Dara Anderson. She was blessed with thirteen great grandchildren, Savannah Pickens, Hudson Murphy, Montana Jones, Laura Jones, Jasper Jones, Karolee Jones, Morgan Harrison, Ashlea Harrison, Abbie Harrison, Coty Lea Harrison, Skylar Alwine, and Aiden Alwine.
Memorials may be given to United Way of the Concho Valley or Grape Creek Baptist Church.
