Martha Faye Coleman Gully, 68, died Thursday, March 5, in San Angelo, Texas, after a courageous battle with liver disease.Martha was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Coleman, Texas, to Garland Gay Coleman and Eula Mae Simonton Coleman. She graduated from Central High School in 1965. She earned a degree in respiratory therapy from Howard College.She worked for Shannon Medical Center as a respiratory therapist until retirement in 2005.She married Kenan Gully in 1986. They raised five children: Chris Aldridge, Kevin Alridge, Marissa Sellman, Russell Gully and Randy Gully.The couple lived in San Angelo all their married lives.Martha enjoyed a rich family life. Her children remembers she has the world's largest VHS collection. Christmas was her favorite time of the year when she would put out her large collection of Santa Claus objects and other Christmas decor, to the delight of her children and grandchildren. She also never passed an opportunity to shop, attend a movie with her great friend, Carol Niehues, or chat on the phone with her lifelong friend, Becky Shamburger.Martha is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ken Gully; five children; 13 grandchildren (the loves of her life); and many nieces and nephews.Martha was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Gloria Gail Sorrell and Barbara Sue Olson.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, followed by internment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers include Kenneth Niehues, Tom Clemens, Thomas Clemens, Sean McCollum, Khris Weber, Steve Keel and Randy Sorrell. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Johnson's Funeral Home.The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Meals for the Elderly.
