Florence Joe Ann Hendricks Gifford was born July 8, 1937 in San Saba, Texas and went to be with her heavenly father on February 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by husband Charles Gifford, brother James Berry Hendricks, grandson Troy Koen Jr., and parents Bernes and Bennie Hendricks.
She married the love of her life, Charles Gifford, on June 7, 1955 in Paint Rock, Texas. They lived in Eden for a short time where they were blessed with two daughters Edith and Debbie. They would move to Odessa where their son Charles Dusty Gifford was born. Joe Ann worked at Ector County ISD for a while in food service. The majority of her life was spent in San Angelo where she worked at Grape Creek ISD as a food service worker and at San Angelo State School in housekeeping. She enjoyed working with the students and knew most of them by name.
She is survived by daughter, Edith Koen and her husband Troy Koen, daughter, Debbie Hall and her husband Chris Hall, son Dusty Gifford and his wife Janene Gifford; grandchildren, Misti, Amber and husband Jeremy, Jessi, Christi and husband Josh, Ethan and wife Erika, and Cole; great grandchildren, Kayli, Brilee, Gavin, Bryson, Bradon, Harlee, Bailynn, Ella, Silas, and Emma.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the funeral home with family present form 6-8. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Eden Cemetery in Eden, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
