Harley was born Sept. 9, 1926 in Miles. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Jeschke, son Thomas Charles, grandson Travis Paul Jeschke, two brothers and his mother and father Ella and Otto Jeschke.
Harley lived on and worked the family farm until 1944 when he enlisted and served the United States Navy. His primary Naval carrier was the USS Fanshaw Bay (CVE-701). He served 17 months overseas in the American Area Campaign Asiatic-Pacific area and discharged July 1946.
After he returned from his military service he met and married Patricia Ann Sheen on Nov. 22, 1950. They had three children Tommy, Ann and Paul. He continued working the family farm until the 1980's. He began working for the United States Postal Service in 1977 and retired in 1997. Harley played baseball for the Miles Giants and was a Lion's club member. He served on the Miles City Counsel for 10 years and was a Miles school board member. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles and an active member of the American Legion post 543 for over 60 years. He was a dedicated supporter of the city of Miles and Miles ISD.
Harley and Pat lived a full life traveling the world with friends. He loved to hunt, fish, watch sports especially baseball. He loved to tinker and reinvent things. We call it Harley-ventions and he had many Harley-isms as well. He was truly loved by everyone and maintained a great sense of humor until he was called home.
Survivors include his daughter, Frances Ann Jeschke of San Angelo; son Paul Harley Jeschke of Bastrop; special friend Tammy Young of San Angelo; and brother Melvin Jeschke of San Angelo.
We want to thank Gentiva Hospice especially Kathy Osborne RN and personal care assistant Juanita Herrera. Memorials can be made to the Miles Cemetery Association, Trinity Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens center in Miles.
