Roland W. Hoyt, 81, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 in an area nursing home. He was born to his parents, Clyde and Sue Hoyt, in San Angelo on Nov. 28, 1932. He graduated from High School here in 1950 and then attended the University of Texas. He graduated from there in 1954 with a degree in Business Administration and as a Reserve Officer in the U.S. Air Force.
In 1955, he was put on active duty at Goodfellow Air Force Base for two years as a Lieutenant. He then became a Licensed Stock and Bond Broker for a member of the the New York Stock Exchange here in San Angelo for thirty years. During this time he developed a residential area off of Ben Ficklin Road next to the South Concho River with Sun Valley Lane dividing the property. He lived there for about twenty years until he retired.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. on Thursday in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel.
He is survived by his son Clifton Hoyt and grandson Keelon Hoyt, both of San Angelo; and by his son Mark Haag and his family of Austin.
