Kimberly Ann Mariano (Kim, Kimmah, Gimma), 59, of San Angelo, TX, went to be with her precious Savior, Jesus on Friday, May 23, 2014.
She was born in Clovis, NM, on February 26, 1955 to the late Helene and Lee Ross Hammond. Kim graduated from Clovis High School and received a bachelor's degree in Education from west Texas State University in 1977. She married Lakan Mariano on July 6, 1980.
Kim was involved in many ministries at church, some of her favorite being "the kitchen crew" and teaching kiddos on Sunday mornings. She was active in the community as a member of the San Angelo Symphony Guild with the Belles and Beaux, as well as spending many years loving on kids as a substitute teacher and tutor at the elementary schools in San Angelo.
Kim was an absolute treasure to everyone who knew her. She knew no stranger and had the most amazing ability to make a connection with anyone. It was evident that Kim loved people, but more so, that she loved Jesus. Her passion to share the love of Christ and make His name known was at the forefront of everything she did. She truly exemplified a woman whose heart reflected Jesus and her life was defined by God's mercy, goodness, and grace.
Kim is survived by her husband, Lakan Mariano, children Micah and Cami Mariano, Josh and Lindsay Mariano, Rachel and Cole Calloway, grandchildren Seth, Aiden, Greyson, Adrie, Nehemiah, and one more due in November. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Linda Turner and husband Butch, Martha Hardwick and husband Stanley, and Leigh Willmon and husband Mike as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, May 27 at College Hills Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX.
