Marvin W. Motl, 81, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2014 in San Angelo. The Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Randall Wehmeyer officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Marvin was born July 9, 1932 in Tom Green County, Texas to Wencel M. and Emma Motl. He grew up and graduated from high school in San Angelo. Marvin served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He met and later married Avis _____ on November 29, 1957 and they shared 27 beautiful years together before Avis preceded him in death in 1984. Marvin enjoyed the agrarian life watching livestock, various breeds of animals and nature grow while farming and ranching all of his life. He also worked as a land surveyor for over 29 years for Wilson, Williams, Langhor and Associates in San Angelo. Marvin had a passion for playing his accordion in his spare time. He was a loving brother, husband and father who devoted his life to his family and we will dearly miss him. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Motl and one brother Martin W. Motl. He is survived by his son, Mark B. Motl, of San Angelo; his sister-in-law, Pearl Motl, of San Angelo; his nieces and nephew, Lidice Wright, of Spokane,WA, Gary Motl and his wife Deborah, of San Angelo and Rebecca Ellwanger and her husband Steve, of San Angelo. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Antonia "Toni" Argo, Jimmy Carrasco and the staff's of Rio Concho Terrace, Park Plaza Nursing Center and Odyssey Hospice for all of the loving care given to Marvin.
