Evaristo Montes Palacio Sr., 49, went to be with our Lord on January 7, 2014. He was a long time resident of San Angelo Texas. Evaristo was known to all his buddies as Varo and Prieto.
He was born November 26, 1964, in Poso de Calbo Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Carmen Palacio. He married his long time sweetheart Angel Sanchez on November 10, 1990 in Runnels County.
Evaristo (Varo) is survived by his loving wife Angel, Together they were blessed with three children, Evaristo Jr., Mark Anthony and Gabriella Palacio all of San Angelo; he also leaves behind his loving grandson, Trae Palacio of San Angelo, and Alex and Veronica Palacio of Mexico. He is survived by his mother, Carmen Palacio, his sisters Maria del Rosario, Ermelinda ,Irma; and his brothers Sirilo, Leonardo, Julian, Jose, and Eriberto Palacio. Varo was preceded in death by his Father Jose Palacio and his Maternal Grandparents, Cresencia and Cornelio Martinez. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces. Evaristo was known to all his buddies as Varo and Prieto.
He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Varo was a very active outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and loved to cook and grill. He enjoyed being with his friends, cooking and having fun. "What happens at the barn stays at the barn."
He was employed by Lone Star Beef LLC for 20 years as a kill floor supervisor. Varo will be missed by all his family and friends.
Viewing will be 12:00 to 8:00pm Thursday January 9, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Prayer service will be 7:00pm Thursday January 9, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday January 10, 2014 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Minister Javier Fernandez, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the directions of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his long time work and family friends; Elias Torres Jr., Chuck Jones, Roy Heiple, Rodrigo (Rigo) Ramirez Jr., Tereso Cardenas and Mike Montoya.
The Palacio family would like to thank all of the friends and relatives for their support and prayers during Varo’s illness. They would also like to express their appreciation to the medical staff at San Angelo Community Medical Center and to Our Lone Star Beef family especially the Torrez and the John Cross Families.
