NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SOUTHERN ROLLING PLAINS ZONE
In accordance with the Texas Agriculture Code , Chapter 74 , Subchapter D , §74.118 (Vernpn Supp. 1999) and 4 Tex . Admin. Code §3.73 , the Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation hereby provides notice to growers in the Southern Rolling Plains Boll Weevil Eradication Zone that they are required to participate in the eradication program established by referendum for the Southern Rolling Plains Zone. The Southern Rolling Plains Zone consists of: Coke , Coleman , Concho , Irion , Mason , McCulloch, Menard, Runnels, Schleicher and Tom Green counties and all land in Taylor County lying west of US Highway 83... Notice of Intent to Enter Fields
In accordance with the provisions of the Texas Agriculture Code, Chapter 74, subchapter D, Sec. 74.117 as amended, the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation hereby notify cotton growers in the Southern Rolling Plains Boll Weevil Eradication Zone of the schedule to enter fields or premises for the purposes of carrying out a boll weevil eradication program in the zone, including treatment, monitoring, inspection and mapping functions.
The Foundation will enter fields or premises during reasonable daylight hours for the purposes of mapping, trapping and monitoring for the cotton boll weevil. These activities will be initiated on or about January 1, 2022, and the trapping and monitoring functions will continue weekly throughout the year. Treatment for the cotton boll weevil with ultra low-volume malathion or other registered insecticides by air and/or ground equipment may begin on or about March 31, 2022. Treatment activities will continue during reasonable daylight hours throughout the year, ent activities will continue during reasonable daylight hours throughout the year, as indicated by trap captures and crop stage, until there is no hostable cotton in the zone.
The Southern Rolling Plains Boll Weevil Eradication Zone includes: Coke,
Coleman, Concho, Irion, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Runnels, Schleicher and Tom t;r-:en Counties, and all land in Taylor County lying west of U.S. Highway 83 from a point commencing at the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and the south Taylor County line, north to the town of Bradshaw; thence all the land lying south of FM Road 1086, as said FM road proceeds west and north to the intersection of said FM road 1086 and U. S. Hwy 277, being all that land lying south of said FM road ,> nd east of said U.S. Hwy 277 from the intersection of FM road 1086 and U.S. Hwy 277 to the point where U.S. 277 intersects the south boundary line of Taylor County.
To mitigate risk, beekeepers should notify the Foundation of beehive locations ear cotton fields. The Foundation will monitor treatments in these locations where bees are present to ensure the security of hives.
