On Friday, March 28th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Brooks & Bates Theater in the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, 82 Gillis Street (across from City Hall), San Angelo LIVE! in conjunction with the San Angelo Performing Arts Center will hold the 2025 mayoral debate. All candidates are invited, including:
- Gary Jenkins
- Trinidad Aguirre, Jr.
- Joshua Burleson
- Thomas “Tom” N. Thompson
- Juan Acevedo
This will be a unique format from other forums as there are two moderators who will ask questions. The agreed upon format from all participating campaigns is:
- 2 minute introduction for each candidate
- The questions will be by two moderators - San Angelo LIVE! Publisher Joe Hyde and SAPAC Executive Director Yukio Kuniyuki
- Each candidate asked the original question receives 3 minutes to respond to each question
- Each other candidate is invited to offer 2 minute rebuttals for each question
This event is free to attend, and there will have a table available for candidates to leave their campaign information. The entire debate will be live streamed on San Angelo LIVE!
Following the debate, the debate afterparty will be at the Arc Light Sports Bar & Grill inside the Clarion, 441 Rio Concho Dr. Candidates are invited to mingle with voters and supporters and answer individual questions there.
