Arrests: Woman Fails to Register as Sex Offender; Man Stabs 65-Year-Old Over Money

This week, local law enforcement initiated several warrant arrests. Since our last update, 55 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail, and out of those arrests, 32 people had outstanding warrants, including Lenice Renee Linthicum and James Olom Rosson.

Linthicum, 36, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender, and Rosson, 61, had a warrant related to a stabbing that took place in March.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said on Nov. 10, 2015, officers went to a residence in the 200 block of E. 6th St. to conduct a Sex Offender Check on Linthicum, who also had a warrant for her arrest.

“Officers made contact with a resident who advised [he or she] was a new tenant and did not know who Linthicum was,” said Gonzalez.

She added that a report was written to document Linthicum was in violation of her duty to register as a sex offender.

Yesterday afternoon, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Linthicum on the warrant, and transported her to the TGCJ.

This is Linthicum’s 21st arrest. Her previous crimes include issuance of bad checks, theft, assault causes bodily injury, and failing to register as a sex offender.

In the case of Rosson, Officer Gonzalez said on March 29, 2016, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of W. Avenue N for the report of a stabbing. Our readers may remember this event. If not, click here and here. This was a scuffle that took place across from Angelo State University.

Rosson reportedly got in a verbal argument with a 65-year-old male victim over a money dispute. During the argument, Rosson stabbed the victim with a knife. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday, TGCSO deputies arrested Rosson on an outstanding warrant related to that event. This is his 17th arrest in TGC. His previous arrests include assault, assault of a public servant, bad checks, drugs, theft and discharging firearms.

In addition to these warrant arrests, 20 people went to the TGCJ for new complaints, and three people had both outstanding warrants and new complaints.

The crimes to make the list included the following:

  • DWI: 6
  • Public Intoxication: 1
