Teen Dies After Being Shot in Hunting Accident

 

MARFA— A Texas teen has died after accidentally being shot in a hunting accident in far West Texas.

The Presidio County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that a 15-year-old boy has died after being shot in the chest. At around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, Presidio County Sheriff Deputies responded to a well-known hunting area several miles north of Presidio. At the location, the teen was shot in the chest while checking hunting rifles.

Family members transported the victim to a Marfa ambulance which then took the victim to Alpine’s Big Ben Regional Medical Center where the teenager was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s name has been withheld due to respect for the family and the case was referred to the Texas Rangers.
