The SEC Arrives on McIvor's Doorstep clad in Red and Blue

SAN ANGELO, TX-- The University of Mississippi, commonly known as "Ole Miss", has extended a scholarship offer to Central quarterback Maverick McIvor, according to his personal twitter account.

The Rebels of the Southeastern Conference join five other Division I schools vying for the soon-to-be senior gunslinger's abilities come the fall of 2019. However, Ole Miss is just the second Power-5 school to offer the Central signal caller.

Just shy of a month ago, McIvor picked up an offer from legendary spread-formation coach Mike Leach and Washington State in the Pac-12 conference.

At the beginning of the year, Urban Meyer of Ohio State paid a visit to San Angelo to look at the 6-foot-3 signal caller who's the son of Texas Longhorn legend Rick McIvor.

McIvor, the 21st ranked dual-threat QB in the nation by 247Sports, threw for 3,369 yards, the second best mark in Central history, during his first year as the signal caller for the Bobcats while also putting up 888 rushing yards and 52 total touchdowns in 2017.

McIvor and the Bobcats will open their 2018 campaign at home on Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. against Killeen Shoemaker.
