Central Loses Coin Flip, Will Travel for Second Round

SAN ANGELO, TX-- The San Angelo Central Bobcats are gearing up for their Bi-District playoff game against El Paso Pebble Hills this Friday.

However, Central has already lost once this week. The Bobcats lost a coin toss with possible second round opponents Mansfield and Keller Central.

That means if the Bobcats and Mansfield win this week, the Bobcats will travel to Mansfield in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex next Friday for a 7 pm game. If Keller Central were to win, that would mean both Keller and San Angelo Central would meet at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene next Friday

But it's common practice for coaches to determine the potential venues for the next playoff game more than a week before they happen.

For example, last year, before Central's second round game, Central Head Coach Brent Davis won the decision against Allen to get a home game in the Regional Semifinals.

The Bobcats would eventually fall to Allen 34-21 on that cold, rainy Black Friday a year ago.

Central will have to get past Pebble Hills first before their attention turns to the second round.
