San Angelo Bandits Unveil New Uniforms

San Angelo’s arena football team unveiled their new uniforms yesterday to a large crowd of reporters in the showroom of All American Chevrolet, 203 N Bryant Blvd. Thursday afternoon. All American Chevy is the title sponsor for the 2016 season.

The new look departs from the traditional green and black color scheme and instead adopts red, white, and blue with black highlights. The Bandits’ 2016 season’s theme is “Glory Bound” and much excitement is swirling around new head coach Meadow Lemon.

The 2016 season begins with an away game Feb. 27 against the Dodge City (KS) Law. The first home game is Mar. 12 at Foster Communications Coliseum against the same team.

The Bandits’ roster is almost full, but Coach Lemon said that their open tryouts Saturday, Dec. 19, are for finding one or two more players for the 2016 season. The tryouts start at 9 a.m. at San Angelo Stadium. “The one-day tryout is open to participants over the age of 18; only those who no longer have any NCAA or NAIA eligibility, and are not under contract with any other professional football team may participate. Kickers will be evaluated (weather permitting) at this event,” a Bandits’ press release stated.
