SAN ANGELO, TX — On Friday, March 29, the City of San Angelo and the Tom Green County Library will experience closures in observance of Good Friday.
The scheduled closure will affect multiple departments of the city, including City Hall, the Municipal Court, and recreational facilities, among others.
Despite these closures, essential services such as trash pickup and landfill operations will not be interrupted.
City operations set to pause for the holiday include Animal Services, the City Hall and Community Development Building, the City Hall Annex, which handles water billing, and the Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices.
Additionally, the Parks and Recreation offices, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, and both the Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers will be closed. The Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers will also not be open.
Meanwhile, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offices, typically closed on Fridays, will extend their closure to include Thursday, March 28. These offices are scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 1.
The Tom Green County Library also announced that all of its branches will be closed tomorrow. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday, March 30, according to the library.
For those looking to engage in holiday activities, Fort Concho’s Visitor Center in Barracks 1 will welcome visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday and the day following.
The fort will offer shorter hours, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Easter Sunday, March 31, with self-guided tours available throughout the weekend.

Additionally, The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will be closed on Easter Sunday. Regular business hours will resume on April 2.
Concho Valley PAWS announced that they would be closed on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30. Regular hours are to resume on Tuesday, April 2.
The San Angelo Police Department stated that its offices will be closed for the holiday weekend and will re-open on Monday.
City offices and operations are set to resume their regular schedules on Monday, April 1.
San Angelo school districts will have Friday off and open back up on Monday.
