San Angelo City Council to Swear in Hesse-Smith Tuesday

SAN ANGELO – The newest member of the San Angelo City Council will be sworn in Tuesday morning during the regular city council meeting.

Karen Hesse-Smith was elected in a special election Jan. 29 to fill the unexpired term of Single Member District 5 councilman Lane Carter who resigned to run for Tom Green County Judge.

According to the city council agenda, the council will first go through proclamations, public comment and the consent agenda before the swearing in ceremony.

A reception will then be held before the newly seated council returns to complete the regular agenda.

The San Angelo City Council meeting will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 in council chambers at the McNease Convention Center.  The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on the city YouTube channel.
