Update: Police Save Woman Performing Daredevil Stupidity on Walkway Across South Bryant

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Two officers with the San Angelo Police Department successfully coaxed a subject down from the top of the overpass over S. Bryant Blvd. Friday.

A woman was seen walking atop the cage that covers the overhead walkway. Had she fallen or jumped, she would have fell 40-50 feet to the ground below.

S. Bryant at Ave. Z was closed while the police successfully talked the woman down to safety. The incident happened at about 1 p.m. By 1:15 p.m., an empty ambulance left the scene.

UPDATE: 5/29/2020 @ 3:00 P.M.

SAPD has released a statement regarding the incident that occurred on the pedestrian bridge.

According to SAPD, police officers were dispatched to the location for a report of a person on the bridge. One of the officers was able to establish communication with the person and the individual came down.

The person then left with a TGCSCO Mental Health Deputy.
