Fort Concho's Annual Spring Speaker Series Will Take Place Every Wednesday in April

 

Fort Concho’s annual spring speaker series during the lunch hour each of the four Wednesdays in April will feature two lectures that will be of interest to amateur shutterbugs, said a press release Monday.

Admission to the lectures is free. Each presentation is from noon to 1 p.m. in the Fort’s Commissary at 702 Burgess St. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch or can order a sack lunch from Mr. T’s Deli for $8 by calling 325-657-4441 by 5 p.m. the preceding Monday.

According to the press release, the lineup of topics and speakers includes:

  • Wednesday, April 6: “Silver and Light Photography” presented by Fort McKavett Site Manager Cody Mobley.
  • Wednesday, April 13: “Fort Lancaster” by Jefferson Spilman, the site’s manager.
  • Wednesday, April 20: “Glenn Springs and Boguillas Raid” by local historian Carl Brockmann.
  • Wednesday, April 27: “Nature Photography” by local historian C.A. Maedgen.
