Police Identify Victim in Wednesday Morning Bar Stabbing

 

San Angelo Police have identified the victim of a stabbing that occurred at Fiddlestrings Bar at approximately 1:15 Wednesday morning as 33-year-old Jaime Zuniga.

According to statements gathered by responding officers, Zuniga was involved in an argument that began inside the bar, but then moved to the rear patio, where the argument escalated and the stabbing ensued.

Zuniga was stabbed on the left side of his chest, police report, and was able to make his way to the front of the bar where he met with responding officers.

Zuniga was transported to Shannon Medical Center where he was being treated for his injuries.  Initial evaluation indicates that Zuniga’s wounds are not life-threatening.

Crime scene investigators and detectives were called to the scene and took over the investigation.  Witness statements, coupled with video taken from the bar, are being used to identify the assailant.  The case is currently under active investigation and further information will be released as it develops.
