The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that its Vice President of Marketing & Recruitment, John Dugan, is resigning from the Chamber effective April 1 to relocate to McKinney to pursue other opportunities, including the reactivation of his economic development consulting company, TX-Econ.
“John has done an outstanding job in facilitating economic development in San Angelo by assisting local companies in expanding, and helping facilitate the locations of new employers into the area,” stated Phil Neighbors, Chamber president. “His west Texas roots and heavy experience in economic development and banking provided a good background for his role here. We’re going to miss him.”
Selected from a field of 18 applicants in June, 2010, Dugan enjoyed his time in San Angelo, and feels good about the job growth and capital investment created in the community over the past four years. “It has been great to facilitate and watch the growth in all sectors of business. San Angelo is fortunate to have a great partnership among economic development support groups, and this is a time to leverage those assets to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the ongoing energy surge, he related.
“San Angelo’s future is very bright. I wish the community nothing but the best, and I look forward to watching the development efforts continue with the strong local partnerships tha have emerged for job retention, expansion and creation” concluded Dugan.
Neighbors indicated that efforts to fill the position will begin immediately, and that a job posting will be published this week.
