HOLLYWOOD— Marvel Studios has dropped the first trailer for the second season of the original Disney+ series Loki.
The God of Mischief returns in Loki season two where it looks like he’ll take on Victor Timely, a variant of Kang the Conqueror played by Jonathan Majors. Variants are the same people in different timelines who may or may not look alike.
The official synopsis reads:
Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Jude Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
At the end of season one of Loki and the Marvel Cinematic Universe being in the middle of Phase 4, which dove headfirst into the Multiverse, it appeared that Kang the Conqueror, who is slated to be the next Avengers villain, had taken over the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization created by a Kang variant to end anomalies in the timeline.
Loki was part of the Marvel's Disney+ series that dropped after Avengers: Endgame along with Wandavision, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and ...What If? among others.
The cast of Loki season two includes:
- Tom Hiddleston (Thor, Kong: Skull Island) as Loki
- Sophia Di Martino (Casualty, Sweethear) as Sylvie, a Loki variant
- Owen Wilson (Zoolander, Marley and Me) as Mobius M. Mobius
- Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Cloverfield Paradox, A Wrinkle in Time) as Ravonna Renslayer
- Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country, Batman v Superman) as Hunter B-15
- Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island, The Mule) as Casey
- Jonathan Majors (Ant-Man: Quantumania, Creed III) as Victor Timely, a Kang variant
- Ke Huy Quan (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Everything Everywhere All at Once) as OB
- Tara Strong (Batman: The Animated Series, Rugrats) as Miss Minutes
Loki Season Two premieres on Disney+ on October 6, 2023.
