Get a Fully Cooked Turkey or Ham on Tuesday, Support County 4H Programs

 

Are you looking for a fully-cooked, smoked or fried turkey for Thanksgiving? You can order yours to pick up on Tuesday evening and support Tom Green County 4H programs doing so.

Tuesday is the annual Turkey Cookout at Blaine’s Pub, 10 W. Harris St. Bar owner Cody Sturm said the tradition has been ongoing ever since he can recall. Local barbeque chefs of Cooking for Christ are rolling in Tuesday and will begin cooking hundreds of turkeys and for appreciative San Angeloans to pickup that evening for their Thanksgiving. Pickup starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Last year, the fundraiser raised $4,500 for county 4H programs. They’d like to beat last year’s total by a good margin this year.

The cooking crew is offering smoked or fried turkeys, 12-14 pounders, Sturm said, for $30 each, fully cooked and ready for Thanksgiving. Smoked hams, 8-10 pounds, are also offered for $40. The meat is supplied by Super Mercado.

To order your turkey, ham, or both, you’ll need to call ahead to the bar (325) 653-7074 before they close Sunday to order. They’re open 7 a.m. – 2 a.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday. Sunday is the last day to call in your order
