SAN ANGELO, TX - Howard College officials announced this week that students who graduated from the San Angelo campus in one of the college's programs listed below provide a positive impact on local employment.
According to a press release, students in five of seven health professions at the Howard San Angelo Campus had a 100 percent preliminary pass rate on their certification exams. Additionally, 89 percent mastered employment, and 79 percent of those students gained employment in San Angelo, per graduate reports.
"The support we receive from our local medical facilities is tremendous," said Michelle Trubenstein, dean of Health Professions at Howard. "Not only do they offer their help while the students are going through the educational program, but they also hire our graduates. Having 79 percent of these graduates remain in San Angelo to work speaks volumes and provides a positive impact on the economy of San Angelo."

In addition to the health field, Howard's cosmetology program reported 100 percent pass rate for their graduates who took their licensure exam between August 2015 and August 2016.
Trubenstein said making the decision to enter an education program that requires additional licensure exams is a big decision for many students.
“They know they have many milestones along the path that must be met in order to be successfully employed in their chosen field,” noted Trubenstein. “We celebrate and support our graduates who have been able to successfully complete their programs of study and pass their licensure exams. We look forward to seeing them in the future as they become a part of our community as licensed professionals.”
