San Angelo Man Indicted for Soliciting Minor Online

SAN ANGELO— A Big Spring man has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for soliciting a minor for sex online earlier this year according to court documents.

Domingo Alfredo Cantu, 24, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in June for online solicitation of a minor.

According to court documents, on February 25, 2023, the Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division conducted an online solicitation investigation in Tom Green County. During the investigation, undercover officers established profiles on a social media site or platform.

A profile titled “ineedhead23” was in contact with an undercover officer before the suspect was told the undercover officer was a minor. The suspect continued to communicate with the undercover officer whom he believed to be a minor and elevated the talks to sexual contact with the minor.

Then, the suspect overtly acted on this intent by traveling to a prearranged location at an agreed time for the purpose of sexual contact with the minor. Upon his arrival at the location, Cantu was detained and was identified as Cantu.

Cantu was arrested and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on February 25, 2023, and was released on February 27, 2023, on bond.
