DPS Christens 2 New Patrol Boats at Lake Brownwood in Honor of Fallen Troopers

 

LAKE BROWNWOOD, TX – Dozens of Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, Officers, retirees and family members gathered Friday morning at Brownwood State Park to Christen two new DPS Patrol boats naming them in honor of two fallen West Texas Troopers.  

Trooper Marc Couch of Abilene explains the significance of the dedication ceremony Friday morning in the video below: 

The two patrol vessels will be transported to the Rio Grande Valley and put into service patrolling the border.

The patrol boats are two of eight recently authorized by the Texas Legislature as part of the ongoing border security project Operation Lone Star.  

Following the ceremony, DPS crews launched the patrol vessels into lake Brownwood to showcase their tactical abilities.
