Officials Recover Body of Kayaker from Hubbard Creek Reservoir

BRECKENRIDGE, TX – A pizza shop owner from Breckenridge was found dead after going missing while kayaking in Hubbard Creek Reservoir over the weekend.

According to an article in the Breckenridge Texan on June 13, 2023, the Stephens County Sheriff's Office has recovered the body of a missing kayaker from the Hubbard Creek Reservoir near Breckenridge. The deceased individual has been identified as Dakota Boulevard, a 42-year-old resident of Breckenridge.

Dakota went missing on June 11, 2023, along with his wife Mindy, while they were kayaking. Their kayak overturned while attempting to reach the shore during a thunderstorm. Mindy managed to make it to the shore near the Village Inn, but Dakota did not.

On June 12, 2023, a search team found Dakota's kayak near a location known as Goat Island. They continued searching the area until Dakota's body was discovered the next morning at 8 a.m. The body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy.

The Boulevard family relocated to Stephens County last year to open a Little Caesars Express pizza take-out establishment in Breckenridge. They have four children named Lexington, Aiden, Emerson, and Desiree, as well as a grandson named Jackson.
