Missing Odessa Teacher Found Safe

 

ODESSA, TX – A missing Ector County ISD Middle School Teacher has been found safe after being gone for more than a month.

According to the Odessa Police Department, on May 30, 2023, Brittany Sawyer was found safe. Despite the confirmation, no additional information on where Sawyer had been has been released.

Sawyer went missing on Apr. 28, 2023, after leaving school early. The day after going home, Sawyer contacted her supervisor and said she would not be in for the rest of the week. The next day, the supervisor received another text saying her leave would be another week.

ECISD reached out to Sawyer's landlord on May 2 to retrieve the school's property. Two days later, ECISD conducted a welfare check on Sawyer's home, only to discover that it was empty.

On May 10, ECISD reported the missing person to the OPD.

At the time of her being reported missing it was said that Sawyer had no car and was walking.
