Colorado City Shooter Remains At-large

COLORADO CITY, TX – The City of Colorado City on Wednesday confirmed that the man responsible for the shooting in town earlier this week is still on the run.

According to Colorado City Secretary, as of May 18, 2023, the suspect is still at-large, however, Police do not believe that he is still in Mitchell County.

Despite that, locals are not certain that what they are being told is true. In a message received by a SA LIVE! viewer, it is being alleged that the suspect is still in town.

"People here are saying he did not flee town and that he's held up in a house on 6th street," stated the message. "That's where he's supposed to be right now, only the police said they think he left town but i live here and they're not really looking for him, just stopping every pedestrian and asking if we know him"

The validity of this statement is unknown at this time but we have passed that message to the CCPD.

Police confirmed in a statement that on May 16, 2023, Marcus Stanford was involve in an aggravated assault against a female at the Relax Inn. Stanford fled the scene and is believed to be awaiting travel to California.

Stanford is listed as a 5'09", 160 lbs, black man with neck tattoos. If you see him do not hesitate to call 911. If you have information on his whereabouts contact the CCPD at (325)728-5294.
