Grave-Robbing Stalker Locked Up After Plea Deal

SAN ANGELO, TX – A woman accused of a list of crimes was sentenced to 20 years in prison in a plea deal on Friday in Tom Green County.

According to court documents, on Feb. 16, 2023, Amy Tidwell, 51, of San Angelo, pleaded guilty to 16 different charges that include grave robbing, various forgeries, stalking and more. In exchange for the guilty plea Tidwell will spend 20 years in a Texas Prison.

Tidwell has been facing the justice system since 2001. Most recently however, in Apr. 2022, Tidwell was arrested after a string of thefts that included credit card and cash fraud over $30,000.

After posting bond Tidwell continued her life of crime by stalking an individual. In the complaint it claims that she stalked a man and took photographs of him without his knowledge. It continued by saying the pictures were used to make the victim feel harassed, annoyed, alarmed, abused, tormented, embarrassed, or offended.

Tidwell is currently in the Tom Green County Detention Facility and has been since Dec. 9, 2022. She will now be handed over to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
