San Angelo Suspect Jailed for Possessing Dirty Images of Kids

SAN ANGELO— A 24-year-old San Angelo resident has been arrested for possessing obscene images of children on his phone.

According to court documents, the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that showed the Snapchat account “unattendedchild” had uploaded images containing suspected child pornography in July 2022. Also given to the Sheriff’s Office was the IP address where the images were uploaded from.

A Tom Green County Grand Jury subpoena was served to Google which provided the email address that was registered to 24-year-old Brayden Settles. Using the intelligence database “CLEAR”, investigators discovered that Settles lived on the 3200 block of Abilene Street.

Snapchat was also served a subpoena and provided the phone number associated with the account and that multiple attempts were made to log into the account from an Apple iPhone 12 cell phone after the suspected child pornography was uploaded.

On February 13, 2023, a search warrant was executed at the residence at the 3200 block of Abilene Street. Settles was located on scene and interviewed by investigators. Settles allegedly told investigators that he had an addiction to pornography and that he had viewed child pornography in the past. Also, Settles said that there would find “teen porn” and “young porn” in his internet search history.

According to the court documents, the images uploaded by Settles allegedly depicted a female child who was approximately 10 years old, with her private areas exposed to the camera. The words “LS-Magazine” is written in the upper right corner of the image.

Settles was booked on February 15, 2023, and has a $35,000 bond.
