BREAKING: Police Identify Body Found in Guadalupe River in Kerrville

 

KERRVILLE, – The Kerrville Police Department has confirmed the identity of a person who was found deceased in the Guadalupe River. The deceased has been identified as Joshua Michael Tally, 25 years of age, a resident of Kerrville. 

On Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at about 2:40 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter located a body in Nimitz Lake at the dam at 700 Guadalupe Street in Kerrville. The Kerrville Fire Department responded and recovered the body from the river. The body was sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Austin. Mr. Tally’s identity was confirmed and his family has been notified.

Mr. Tally was reported missing from his residence in the 1000 block of Guadalupe Street in the afternoon of December 25, 2022. A Missing Person’s report was taken and officers and KPD detectives initiated a search for Mr. Tally. 

The circumstances in which Mr. Tally entered the river are the focus of an on-going investigation. Results from the Medical Examiner’s autopsy report and toxicology results are pending. 

The Kerrville Police Department wishes to express our sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Tally on the loss of their loved one.
