Attorney General: North Texas Man Sent to Prison for Unspeakable Child Abuse

AUSTIN – Attorney General Paxton’s Criminal Prosecution Division recently secured a seven-year prison sentence for a Texarkana man who committed child abuse in Bowie County, Texas.

David Ernest Fant, 59, pleaded guilty to Indecency With a Child and was sentenced to seven years in state prison by visiting judge, the Honorable Lauren Parish, in the 202nd District Court in New Boston, Texas.

According to court documents, the defendant was charged with sexually abusing his then five-year-old step grandchild during her visits with her biological father and grandmother. Fant’s abuse spanned from 2018 through March 2020, and evidence showed that he also directed his then-teenaged son, Hayden Fant, to abuse the minor child as well.

Hayden Fant, now 22, pled guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in September, and agreed to testify against his father at trial as part of his sentence. Both Hayden and David Fant were indicted by a Bowie County grand jury on October 14, 2021. This disposition prevents the victim from having to testify against both family members.

The case was investigated by the Texarkana Texas Police Department and the Texas Attorney General’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant Attorneys General Brenda Cantu and Dorian Cotlar, who acted as pro tem for Bowie County due to a conflict.

Seven years?  Why not an execution?  Sick of these monsters getting off with just a slap on the wrist.

I totally agree! I would like to see castration then let them bleed out. Do that a few times and you will see a lot less of this sick crap.

More like responsible adults who've had it with perverted pedophiles. Absolutely nothing resembling the taliban.  Taliban actually turns a blind eye to child sexual abuse.

Taliban has definitely castrated people, its barbaric and has no place in a civilized society.

But I dont expect republicans to be anything less than looking up to the taliban they idolize.

Remember trump let 5000 of them out of prison he loves them so much.

The closest thing to that here is done with pills, and I believe it’s called “gender affirming care”. It is barbaric I agree

Week after week after week there are several stories of pedophiles just in this paper. Imagine how many there actually are. People like you make it possible for them to do what they want. It's very apparent you feel more for them than the child victims who's lives they ruin. Just like a typical liberal sheep, you feel the need to squeeze Trump's name into something derogatory. Trump is in the past. biden is in the present, you know the guy that left a billion dollars worth of military weapons and hardware in the hands of the taliban.

You sound triggered. You should see somebody for that.

Nah, i just think many of them are framed by people who dont like them and the cops, and when found innocent, which happens a lot here, they cant get away from it because they have been blasted here. It should be illegal to show peoples mugshots and arrest records until after they are convicted. Most civilized countries do it that way, but they also have healthcare because they care about their citizens, unlike republicans who want to make sure nobody can have anything.

None of that "military equipment" worked by the way. it's irrelevant.

Sorry I made a mistake. it wasn't a billion dollars worth, it was 7 billion dollars.

I don't normally bother myself with proving things to people that refuse to see the truth but others see this also. This report is from CNN. I'm sure you will accept their reports.

WashingtonCNN —

Approximately $7 billion of military equipment the US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years was left behind in Afghanistan after the US completed its withdrawal from the country in August, according to a congressionally mandated report from the US Department of Defense viewed by CNN.

This equipment is now in a country that is controlled by the very enemy the US was trying to drive out over the past two decades: the Taliban. The Defense Department has no plans to return to Afghanistan to “retrieve or destroy” the equipment, reads the report, which has been provided to Congress.

I am not saying you are wrong in what you stated.  I am simply providing another take on the magnitude of the damage done by our leaving stuff behind.  The real harm done likely lies between the take you noted and that stated below.  By the way, I do not deny that our exit from that place was a s___show.

Also by the way, happy New Year.

This is one of the few things more loathsome than a thief. If we're not going to kill them, physically remove their gonad sans anesthesia.

About the only form of vermin I despise more than someone who would abuse an animal is someone who would abuse a child.  I have NO sympathy for them.
