Texas Resident in Critical Condition Following House Explosion

 

WESTWORTH VILLAGE, TX – A house explosion in a small town outside of Fort Worth on Thursday sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Westworth Village Police Chief Christopher Cook, on Dec. 1 at around 7:30 a.m., officers with the WVPD were dispatched to the 5600 block of Watters Place for the report of an explosion.

When they arrived, the officers discovered a house that had exploded. The local fire department and paramedics were called in to assist a single resident inside the home. The unidentified resident was airlifted to the Parkland Hospital in Dallas and is in critical condition.

The surrounding area was evacuated for safety precautions. The cause of the explosion has been revealed at this time.

With an explosion this large it is likely sourced from natural gas.
