Sheriff's Deputies Arrest 4 Armed & Dangerous Suspects After Shots Fired in Grape Creek

 

SAN ANGELO – On Friday, January 28, 2022, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the 8900 block of Ballard Road in reference to a complaint of a vehicle burglary with shots fired.   When Deputies arrived, they learned several subjects were observed burglarizing vehicles in the area.  Witnesses to the burglaries approached the suspects, and as a result, the suspects fled on foot.   While fleeing, one of the suspects produced a firearm and fired several rounds in the direction of witnesses.    The suspects escaped to a dark-colored SUV and fled the scene in the vehicle.   

During the course of the subsequent investigation, investigators learned that items stolen during the course of the vehicle burglaries had been sold to a local business.  Investigators used this information to identify multiple suspects.   Investigators were able to develop probable cause and obtain warrants on four suspects.  These individuals were located in San Angelo along with the suspect vehicle on February 2, 2022.   

The following suspects were arrested;  Joe Brandon Ortiz, 17; Tony Enrique Rios, 25; and  Benita Blanca Iniguez, 17: and an unnamed male juvenile were arrested for Aggravated Robbery.    Aggravated Robbery is a first-degree felony and carries a maximum punishment of 99 years in prison.
