Body Found Hanging from Highway Bridge in Brady

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A woman was found hanging by the neck from a bridge for U.S. 87, Brady Police Department stated this afternoon.

According to the police, the woman appeared “to be suspended from the neck by means of a ligature directly below the bridge.”

Police and Brady EMS removed the woman from the bridge, but she was already gone. Justice of the Peace Maggie Sawyer pronounced the woman dead at 2:10 p.m.

The JP ordered an autopsy of the body in Austin on Monday. The identity of the woman has not been verified, police stated. Therefore her next-of-kin have not been notified.

Police stated the body was discovered at 1:50 p.m. hanging from the San Angelo Highway Bridge in the 800 block of U.S. 87 North.

Update Oct 16 at 5:20 p.m.

Brady police stated this afternoon their investigation has not uncovered any evidence of foul play, and they reported the name of the victim.
