SAN ANGELO, TX - Since last Friday, local law enforcement arrested 96 people and booked them into the Tom Green County Jail. Domestic violence, drugs, and alcohol topped the list of crimes, and there were a few San Angeloans who made some unfortunate choices; unfortunately, some of them tried to avoid the consequences.

On Saturday, San Angelo Police arrested 20-year-old Miguel Angel Serrano for Theft of Property >=$2,500<$30K after they investigated a report for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, felony criminal mischief, and a felony theft case at Angelo Automatic Gates, 4142 Arden Road.

This is Serrano's 8th arrest in Tom Green County. He was released on Sunday on a $5,000 surety bond.

On Friday, at around 5:40 p.m., 21-year-old Timothy Issiah Zapata was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated BAC>=0.15 and Resist Arrest Search or Transport after a patrol officer discovered an off-road vehicle crash at the Twin Peaks restaurant, 1601 Knickerbocker. SAPD officials said Zapata’s vehicle appeared to have left the roadway, mounted the east curb, struck a speed limit sign, and collided with a large rock.

"During the initial investigation, Zapata disregarded officer commands and attempted to fight the officer," said officials. "Good Samaritans from a nearby Toyota dealership rushed over to aid the officer and assisted with detaining Zapata until he was handcuffed."

This is Zapata's first arrest in TGC, and his bond is set at $2,000.

Yesterday, William Claude Gregory, 23, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle, and Evading Arrest Detention at around 6:30 a.m. after he ran a red light, nearly collided with a patrol officer’s vehicle, and fled the subsequent traffic stop.

"Gregory abandoned his vehicle and continued to flee on foot but was apprehended after police located him hiding in a field," said SAPD. "This incident occurred near E. Avenue L. and Duggan."

This is also Gregory's 8th arrest in TGC, and his bonds total $9,000.

In another case, 53-year-old John Patrick Gutierrez was arrested for the 43rd time for Animals-Barking Dog and Resist Arrest Search or Transport at around 8 p.m. last night, after police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Webster Street for the report of a barking dog.

SAPD said, "Gutierrez refused to cooperate, refused to sign a citation, and resisted his arrest."

His bonds total $782, and he has a court fine of $141.
