Joint Work Traffic Stop Ends with Arrest of Three San Angeloans

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- Yesterday, the San Angelo Police Department's Street Crime Division (SCD) and the Midland Police Department’s Narcotics Division conducted a joint operation that resulted in the arrests of three San Angelo residents. These residents were detained for the trafficking of narcotics and illegal firearm possession.

Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez, in a press release, said that on Dec. 28, around 5 p.m., San Angelo Police conducted a traffic stop on a GMC pickup truck in the 2900 block of N. Chadbourne St.

“The driver, Charles Edward Usery, 45, was in possession of suspected narcotics that field-tested positive for presence of approximately three and a half (3.5) ounces of methamphetamine,” Gonzalez stated.

Usery was arrested and charged with a First-Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.

After Usery’s arrest, Detectives executed a search warrant for a storage unit at the Northside Storage facility, 2510 N. Chadbourne. Upon execution and searching, detectives seized a quantity of evidence.

On the same day, at 10:30 p.m., San Angelo Police initiated another traffic stop. This time, a Ford Expedition was stopped in the 2200 block of N. Chadbourne St.

“During the stop, investigators located a quantity of miscellaneous contraband,” Gonzalez said. “The driver, Jonathan Wayne Staker, 38, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon.”

A passenger, Della Jane McGlothlin, 40, in the Expedition, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession/Delivery Drug Paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant.

Usery, Staker, and McGlothlin were booked into the Tom Green County Jail without incident following their arrests.

Gonzalez noted, “Members of the Department’s Patrol Division and K-9 unit assisted during the investigations.”
