SAN ANGELO, TX – Since our last update, local law enforcement arrested 25 people, including 50-year-old Oscar Guzman. Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Guzman on two outstanding warrants: one for Aggravated Sexual Assault Child, and another for Indecency w/Child Sexual Contact.
In July 2015, a grand jury in Tom Green County indicted Guzman on the two charges in the 51st District Court.
According to the indictment, for the first charge, Guzman, on or about Sept. 15, 2004, “did then and there intentionally and knowingly” assaulted a female child younger than 14 years of age through sexual contact. The Aggravated Sexual Assault Child charge is a first degree felony.
As for the second charge, on or about Feb. 28, 2004, Guzman engaged in sexual contact with the same victim. The second charge is a second degree felony.
Guzman has a history of arrests in Tom Green County. He has been arrested 19 times for crimes that include criminal trespass, assault, public intoxication, unlawful carrying of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly contact, fail to appear, fail to obey lawful order and terroristic threat. His record dates back to 1985.
Guzman’s bonds, set by a judge as “Deployment Conversion,” total $100,000.
Including Guzman, 14 people were arrested on outstanding warrants, nine people on new complaints, and two on both new complaints and outstanding warrants.
