TGCSO Increases Holiday Patrols, Make Three Felony Arrests

SAN ANGELO, TX - This evening, Sheriff David Jones announced he has assigned plain-clothed investigators in unmarked vehicles to patrol throughout the county "in an effort to curtail holiday season criminal activity."

"These efforts so far have produced three felony arrests, the recovery of stolen property from burglaries, the seizure of illegal narcotics, and the arrest of wanted subjects," said the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office. "These efforts will continue through the holiday season to suppress criminal activity in our county."

TGCSO officials said, on December 1, Kevin Don Lassiter was arrested on an outstanding parole warrant and was found in possession of a loaded firearm during the arrest.

"Lassiter was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine," said TGCSO. "[He] was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a 3rd Degree Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, >= 1gram < 4grams, a 3rd degree felony, and arrested on the parole warrant."

This is Lassiter's 6th arrest in Tom Green County.

On December 2, TGCSO deputies arrested Robert Wayne Bledsoe on a parole warrant. They observed Bledsoe operating a vehicle, along with Amber Michelle Webb, a passenger in the vehicle, who also had an outstanding parole warrant.

"During the inventory of the vehicle being operated by Bledsoe, deputies found in excess of 38 grams of methamphetamine secreted in a false compartment in the vehicle along with digital scales and materials used in the distribution of illegal drugs and a reported stolen firearm," added TGCSO. "Deputies also seized cash money in excess of $1,000.00 in the possession of Bledsoe."

Deputies arrested Bledsoe on the parole warrant and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, >4 grams < 200 grams a 1st degree felony. Webb was arrested on a charge of Tamper or Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, a 3rd degree felony.

"During the inventory of Bledsoe’s vehicle, a number of stolen items were found in the vehicle that was believed to have been taken in recent burglaries," stated TGCSO. "Deputies were able to confirm some of the items were in fact stolen in recent burglaries, and, in one case, found items stolen in a burglary that had not been discovered or reported to that date."

Investigators are still in the process of attempting to identify the rightful owners of the remaining stolen items, noted TGCSO officials.

This is Bledsoe's 21st arrest in TGC, and Webb's 16th arrest.
