Brady Woman Dead After Early Morning Shooting, Suspect in Custody

 

BRADY, TX – A Brady woman died this morning after a shooting, and one suspect is in custody.

McCulloch County Sheriff Ty Tully said MCSO, along with the Brady Police Department, responded to a residence in the county after receiving a 911 call in reference to a shooting.

Sheriff Tully said the victim, Mary Christine Derrick of Brady, was transported to the Heart of Texas Emergency Room where life-saving measures were attempted; sadly, those attempts were unsuccessful.

“Derrick was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. [this morning],” said Tully. “There is one suspect in custody at this time.”

Sheriff Tully said the Texas Rangers are currently investigating the shooting, and more information will be provided when available.
