Big Spring Police Department Respond to Homicide on Memorial Day Weekend

 

Big Spring Police Department Officers were dispatched to 601 N. Scurry in reference to a shots fired call on Monday, May 30.

At approximately 12:24 a.m., officers and Emergency Medical Services arrived to observe Israel Miramontes, a Hispanic male, 32, laying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.

Big Spring EMS found no signs of life on Miramontes. Justice of the Peace Fitzgibbons arrived on scene and pronounced Miramontes deceased. Miramontes is scheduled for autopsy on today. The Big Spring Police Department have declared the investigation as a homicide, and the Criminal Investigations Division is following up on leads.
